got a stupid question but maybe worth asking

Can I plug my bass into the input side of a Tech 21 VT Bass SansAmp Pedal and plug a set of headphones into the output side and use it as a headphone amp for practice.

Please don't murder me on this. Just trying to come up with a multi use preamp that I can get rather cheap. I want to as well use this through a powered Carvin LSX1503A, but thought it would be cool if I could as well use it for quiet practice. Maybe help justify the purchase.

I've never tried that ... but you can do that with a bass pod and many amps have headphone jacks.

Never tried it, But I would say no.
You still need to "amplify' the signal (even if its just small headphone amp).
(You can't do it with a "standard" pedal/effect/whathaveyou)

The PODs are designed (and powered) for use with headphones and is kindof a different "type" of unit alltogether...not necesarily a "pedal", I guess.

You gotta run it through something like these:

It would be similar to plugging headphones into your bass jack with out it.

I got a used Korg PX4B for 60 recently, I don't know what I ever did without it. You could probably get one for cheaper if you're patient.

Thanks for the input. This is what I was thinking, just figured if it put out enough signal to run headphones that would be one less piece of equipment to buy.

Thanks Again
