p.s. --- i know graphite picks aren't technically an effect, BUT - i consider any form of variation on how you attack the strings an effect as it changes the sound....

Picks aren't effects. Picking is a technique, and if you had asked this in the Technique forum, you probably would have had a difinitive answer by now. I can only say look of the Dunlop site, and if they've been discontinued, try to find some unsold stock on ebay, Samash.com, etc.

so you're saying you don't know, then no need to post in this thread. but, thanks anyway, i've never used that thread and you're right in that there's a good chance the technique folks may have some useful suggestions. (btw, picks ARE effects if one wants them to be. it's perspective and how you use them. electricity, metal boxes and wires surely aren't the only things that define an effect.)

im not sure id agree with you g, i wikki'd effects, the first sentence "Effects units are electronic devices that alter how a musical instrument or other audio source sounds." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Effects_unit)

anyways back on track. they're all over ebay. check it out (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/12-Adamas-2mm...item35ae87759f)

from what i've read yes they are discontinued so stock up now to keep your sound for future years

thanks for the link and confirmation, slurpy. i'd read they were discontinued, just didn't want to believe it! anyway, perhaps i concede to your wikipedia research about effects. but i'd still, in my own mind, consider them effects in this sort of way 'a hand-held non-electronic attack effect' or some nonsense like that!

Well then I guess strings are effects too cause they effect your sound so much.
lol jk. Even if they are out of production I would just hit ebay for all you can get.
