Of Ground and BDDI deluxe, attn Tech21NYC !!
Got a show to play and ran ran into this:
Now, my BDDI deluxe is on phantom power, the DI is pristine at FOH with tuner in FX loop for silent pop free tuning and my eq pedal in front of the BDDI input. So no noise on the FX side. Tells me nought wrong with the power supply.
But amp is a different story, got a hell mains hum from it and noisy as hell from the cab mic.
The MD's telemonitor got into my bass somehow with mains hum, if someone waved a hand in front of the sceen it got much louder, explain that someone?
We solved that one by moving the monitor away from me. Ground lift on my amp got rid of most of the other 50hz after that. I'm wondering if some TV hum is still gettting into my amp, but not the rest.
The other junk coming out of my amp is making the mic useless.
What happens if I turn off phantom/ground button? FOH phantom power is on regardless.
chain once more:
bass > EQ > BDDI dlx (tuner)
BDDI DI > FOH
BDDI output ( no channels in use ) > amp
I'm going to see if I can get a seperate supply for my pedals and the TV. Any other suggestions?
The phantom power won't work if you lift the ground on the pedal. That is where the phantom power comes from. We recommend leaving a battery in the unit for that reason. The battery drain on the Bass Driver is quite low.
