Angry GT-10B serious problem!

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all

i have a serious problem with my Gt-10b that i own almost 2 years now
( i bought it brand new , i have it always in a case, never droped or expozed outdoors , no liquids on it and
i use it only for home recordings with my laptop )
the problem appears when i open the GT-10b and is not booting at all
i am getting the BOSS logo( or blank screen )that is flashing and stays in that screen forever
sometimes after several restarts the menu might appears
then i have another problem ...when i am trying to edit patches ..
ex: i select a patch and i deside to add chorus
i press the chorus button and when am scrolling the wheel .. it freezes...and needs a restart .,, and here we go again..
i managed to do factory reset after many tries and didnt work.
I searched the net for a firmware update.. but there is only for the GT-10 version
Any solutions?

That's definitely bizarre.

I've dealt with some older systems (nothing to do with audio) and could place these problems somewhere in the firmware or some of the IO controllers. Never became an expert on circuitry that is probably similar to cards engineered similarly to stuff from the 1980's.

So unless you know how and what to fix, I doubt there's much that you can do. Seems weird that it would go out on its own with minimal handling. Have you asked BOSS about servicing it?

yes and i sent them an email before some months and i didn't received any answer
i think the problem is on the software because 1 in 25 times if am lucky is booting and i can play .. only with the preset patches

It sounds more like a hardware than software issue. To Boss servicing it should go.

I would PHONE their support, not email, though their email system is timely based on my experience. But PHONE support is the way to go with BOSS / Roland gear, it's much faster and more robust.
