GT-10B USB Input Not Working - Help?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Folks,

I picked up a Boss GT-10B. So far I love it. I'm having one issue though. I can't seem to get GarageBand to take audio input from the GT-10B over USB. I've installed the Snow Leopard USB driver and I can use the librarian application as well as the free (source forge project) FX PedalBoard app. So USB is definitely working.

When I plug in the GT-10B GarageBand recognizes the device and I can choose GT-10B left/right/stereo as input but I don't get any input signal. GB and my the OS SW tell me this device has no audio input controls. I've selected USB Input as the input on the GT-10B and I'm using the advanced driver setting. I have the USB output level on the GT-10B maxed out and the output level of the unit turned up still no input signal into GB.

What am I missing?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Some additional info. I sent en email off to Boss support. Their reply basically stated that they didn't know what was up and it was probably the computer. So I installed the USB driver on a Mac running Leopard and I encountered the exact same issue.

Neither GB nor the OS sound utility think the GT-10B has any audio inputs. On Snow Leopard and Leopard.

I may reset the unit to factory settings and see if that helps.

Still feels like operator error but I'm beginning to wonder.

The GT-10B audio is ASIO compliant, so your software needs to support that too.
The issue with ASIO audio devices is usually the O.S will only support one device at one time, so you need to disable our computer soundcard and make the GT-10B your main soundcard, and plug your speakers into the GT-10B, this will also help with recording latency.

The GT-10B input selection needs to be on Bass 1~3.
The USB audio is tapped out of the GT-10B from the DGT/USB effect block, so placing that near the front of the signal chain will record dry, and placing it at the end of the chain records with effects.

Thanks for the info. This was part of my problem. The other problem was the bass I was using has a very low output signal. It needed to be boosted quite a bit before it showed up in my audio recording SW.
