GT-6B Input/Output levels

Sign in to disble this ad
Did a quick search and didn't find this question specifically addressed:

For the GT-6B users - when you use the 'UTILITY' key to monitor input and output levels what sort of values do you see? I get input at around 2-3 'notches' and output at around 4-6 'notches' - this seems low to me.

And the LED under the "Pedal Assign" button is permanently on on my unit - is that normal or SNAFU?

Cheers, Ben.

Pedal assign is always on. I never checked the input output level readout. I just tweaked the knob on the back or the master level knob on the front.

Ben,

My input level is around 4 notches for fingerstyle, 5 and a half for slap. I own a Warwick Thumb BO and this bass is known for hot signal. The internal monitor input is useful only when you create a new patch. I check it to make sure that levels are the same (or lower than input level) after every effect in the signal chain.

The Pedal Assign button's led can be switched off when you set every parameter in it's menu to "off". It's set to control volume pedal by default on some patches. There's nothing wrong with your Boss.

Hope it helps

Thanks for that - thought the low input level was the reason I was having trouble getting the Synth on the GT6B to track properly but from reading other threads on this board it looks like I'm not the only one with that problem.

Cheers, Ben
