Not all, but most do.... I guess you havn't read the FAQ on this forum?

The ones that don't work, you will find out fairly quickly. When you stomp on them, they will blow your leg off and leave you with a bloody, stumpy mess.

The dunlop crybaby flea used was the bass version (I think).

Yeah, you want to watch out for that one! At least it is clearly marked though...

Many a bassist has been caught out by unknowingly plugging a bass into a guitar effect like a Big Muff, ignoring the slow motion 'NOOOOOOoooooo' from their band mates, stomping it on and BOOOM.....

Hot Bassist plasma sprayed across the first 10 rows at a gig..... Be carefull Kids...

Well it really depends on the effect. Some pedals designed for guitar work well, others don't.

The wah pedal that Flea uses is the Dunlop 105q (Crybaby Bass Wah).

Generally (although there are exceptions) wah's and OD/Dist work better when they are "bass specific". The guitar versions tend to lose all low end.

the landmine. oh boy. it has no gain control..the gain is always at 10..ohhh guitarists..

back to your question, most good bass pedals are just high end pedals built for guitar. my overdrive/distortion is a visual sound jekyll and hyde- absolutely a great pedal for bass, boosts lows and all. i also use the 105Q dunlop wah, wich is great. but you need to be carefull about specific effects, a lot of distortions and things of that nature will cut all the bass out of your bass sound.
