I've done it for kicks and it sounded shrill and thin. Maybe it was just the ****** create GX stack??
What I always wanted to try was split the signal to one bass amp and one guitar amp like a marshall JCM with that high gain distortion and blend the two signals somehow so you still maintain the low end and have some wicked distortion sitting on top of your tone.
