Guyatone Flip Series Tremelo

I've got a pretty good sized pedal board and am running a Guyatone Flip Series Tremelo on it's own Pedal rack channel. When I click it on, there is a noticeable decrease in sound, but I'm not sure how to correct this as I don't have a "level" knob on the pedal. Is this more of a threshold thing? How do I balance it out for the on/off effect?

That's one of the odd things about tremolos in general. When they sweep through the cycle from quietest to full-on peak, they reach the exact same peak level as the bypassed signal- but the cycle spends most of its time well below the average level of the bypassed signal, which brings down the average level of the effected signal. Our ears focus on the average, not the peak, so the signal sounds quieter.

To solve that some trems have a gain stage at the end to bring the average back up. You can put a boost pedal after yours, or better yet a compressor, which will raise the average without raising the peaks too much.

Would that need to be directly after the tremelo? In my board, I've got another 4 channels of effects before it gets to my amp and I've got compressor there.

The issue you described was the level of the trem signal being lower than the bypassed signal. If the make-up gain stage (boost or compressor) is somewhere other than the trem output itself, then you're back to square one.
