Anyone tried this little thing ?
It makes me curious and what I heard from it sounds interesting.
It sound like the perfect tool to make an otherwise gentle bass insanely agressive.

You know, if nobody tells me anything about it, I'm going to be forced to buy one.

Seems like it's pretty much the same as the Electronix Submarine.

I received it.
Not impressed, with a bass at least. It keeps lows fairly well although I can feel a little bit going away but it may just be me. Construction is typical from Guyatone mini-series, cheap but well done.

Level gives a fair amount of boost, about +20 dB with no noise added. Shape tweaks the harmonic content to alter tone balance.
I can hear what it does but it's too subtle to my taste and really, nothing so radical that good EQing won't do just as well.
Actually it sounds a lot like the aural enhancer on older SWR gear. It adds punch and aggressivity in the higher range and clarity in the mids.

It would likely do good on a shallow or cheapo instrument. For example I could see an Epi EB-0 getting a lot more versatility and punch from this unit. It would be good too to help getting through in a metal of punk setting. My basses sound fine the way they are and I'm not trying to shred the audience's ears.

If nothing else, see it as a decent booster with a bonus Presence knob.
I may or not add a couple clips.

I tried it today on the mandolin and it really shines, giving a whole palette of tones, a bit like a varitone but with much more control. It lets you sculpt mediums in a really pleasant way.
Great box, worthless on bass.
