$35 used and I'm shocked (shocked I say) by how much I like it. Looks like it will break in 15 minutes, but damn I'm shocked (can I say shocked enough?)

I don't see why it would break.
I used mine daily for the few last years.
These little things may be small but they're sturdier than they seem.
If you like it raw, this pedal is for you.

I did a search before posting and saw that there hadn't been a dedicated thread in awhile. The ones I did look at had YOU as a notable proponent.

It's a great fuzz for the money. Especially if you're into Superfuzz styled sounds. I was even more impressed with their little delay model. The whole "held together with a little piece of rubber" thing is a bit of a turn off though. You can't beat them for the price though.

I agree with everything Jazz Ad has said about TZ2. love the thing, particularly with a vibe pedal.
It really nails that chainsaw wielding bumble bee sound.

Quick and dirty recording, threw the mic on the floor in front of the cab and started playing.

Bourbon -> P Bass (tone up) -> TZ2 -> AMP -> Cab -> Mic -> Recording

TZ2 Quicky

Guyatone makes some nice pedals. I have the delay and the phaser and love 'em both.

I spoke with a guy from Godlyke who mentioned that they are completely overhauling their "micro" line to be even nicer. I think they're calling them "Mighty Micros" or something like that. Anyway, they're supposed to come out in Sept and, according to him, the circuitry is upgraded and they will be true bypass.

They'll also be more expensive, natch. They're trying to get into more of the "semi-boutique" niche.

I've had mine for about three years now and i love it to no end. Nothing is ever truly permanent on one's board but I just don't see myself replacing my TZ2. Ever.

I bought one about two years ago, in part because Jazz Ad spoke highly of it. Works fine with actives, takes up very little pedalboard space, easy to dial in and gives a very aggressive fuzz. Plus the octave up gives some interesting noises in the higher register when playing chords or double stops.

I will never like the housing on the Guyatone Micros (that black rubber band and the loose back plate you have to remove to get at the battery) but they are pretty overlooked considering how well they perform relative to their price point.

A great little buzzsaw of a fuzz no doubt.

I have really liked every one of those little Guyatones I've ever tried. Like everyone else, I think the construction is a joke, but the sounds are great!

I don't think I've posted about it before, but the DS2 is an insane "lead guitar" screaming sustain distortion which sound great on bass at all but the highest gain settings (it loses low end if you crank the gain).

I picked up one of their little micro chorus pedals a while back just to try out and thought it was a great sounding chorus...it has a bit of a volume increase...but overall...great sounding little box...I want to try the micro flanger...

I love this obnoxious little SOB.

........I mean the pedal, not Jazz Ad.

seriously, after banging away at it rather vigorously for almost two years now it still works properly, and it's proved more durable than one would expect.

Me too post! +1

Great fuzz for the money and size. This pedal also sounds killer on 6 string guitar, too (for those who swing both ways ) I think it might sound better on guitar than it does on bass, actually. If somebody was looking for an aggressive fuzz on a low budget, this would be one of my suggestions (under 50 dollars, used).

agreed. i prefer the look of ashdown pedals over these things. they hardly look more durable than the older pedals. they look like little kids toys!!!
