Guyatone WR2 vs BR2

Sign in to disble this ad
I was just wondering... has anyone investigated the differences between the Guyatone Wah Rocker and Bottom Wah Rocker (bass version)? The web boilerplate says they switched a few parts and re-voiced the filter for bass, but does anyone know what they actually did?

The main reason I'm asking is that the BR2 is discontinued and becoming a cult thing because of Justin Chancellor, while the regular version is still in production.....how hard would it be to convert one to the other?

Or is this all moot now that they have the WR-3, which is supposedly good for both bass and guitar?

WR-3 sucks

I don't think the BR-2 is that great of a filter an FX25 will get better sounds than it imho

WR-3 has a dry blend thingy on it, if that means anything.

wouldn't know... I've never actually tried any of the guyatone filters. I'm just asking out of idle curiosity

There's a WR-3 clip somewhere on Youtube doing some Rosetta Stoned and even the guy playing it says it sucks..

I use the BR-2 and it's a very unique sounding filter. I'm not sure if you could mod the WR-3 to do that but you'd be better off just getting a BR-2 then.

I have to say I owned the BR2 and was very much not impressed with it. From what I remember it was very peaky a muddy.

I quite like my BR-2. It's got a very unique sound to it...
