| a bass heavy super fuzzy distortion suited for bass, guitar, and baritone!
includes a noise gate as well as a "clean/low" blend, allowing undistorted low frequencies through to your amp. turning down your instrument's volume allows you to create a nice overdrive, too!-Description from Analog Haven
Manufactured by Dwarfcraft Devices $190, 9v Boss style adaptor, sadly I did not get the teen wolf decal
This was purchased new from Analong Haven about a week ago and I’ve only had this pedal about 48 hours. I have used this with a Lakland Darryl Jones Skyline bass (flats) and Hamer Cruise bass (rounds) through a Roland DB115 combo amp. I’m no expert with effects so the format of this review maybe a bit of a jumble for some, so I apologize in advance to the folks at bassfuzz.com for ripping off some of their format. I also want to point out that I have yet to put this effect through my effects loop on the combo or use it in a band setting (my guitarist is in India).
Thoughts: I purchased this pedal on the day that I thought I was going to order the Great Destroyer, but I found this pedal a bit more bass friendly/less scary. Dwarfcraft put together a rough demo and one of the best promo videos every to push this baby. I will try not to have a bias, but based on construction the pedal impressed me. The artwork/decal seems solid and will be able to take a pounding…if anything were to go wrong with this pedal I would be surprised (plus I think the warranty with these guys would be good). This is my first pedal that I bought brand new, which is a breath of fresh air, I just worry about reaching the maker of this pedal if I do have any issues.
1-10
Sound Category: Prog, indie, metal, rock, etc. (I can hear this fitting into a lot of music)
Versatility: 8 this pedal does a lot of things very well, which is impart do to the noise gate/mix
Sound: 9 deep Melvins (?) like tone to bit crusher synth to a subtle overdrive. I think that having some compression mixed in can also do some wonders for the tone here.
Value: 8 this keeps the low end…that is reason enough to get this pedal but I take points off for the price tag
Overall: …(coming soon)
I will be keeping this pedal and putting up some clips in the near future. Also, if I were to happen to have another $190 I would consider buying another one of these. I will add more to this review once I have played with my band Ford’s Theater. I believe that this pedal will sound even better with some other pedals, which says a lot since this pedal has a lot of tone in it.
I will be in the studio with this pedal later this year.
Other pedals on board: Boss OC-2, Boss TU-2, Boss GEB-7, Turbo Rat, Boss HM-2, EHX Q-balls Enigma.
My camera will work tomorrow so I can take pictures later |
