Hao Sole Pressure

Was looking through some posts on the Gearslutz recording forum and came across a thread about bass overdrive. Kurt Ballou (guitarist for Converge and very well known for recording lots of hardcore bands) said that the Hao Sole Pressure is a great bass overdrive pedal with heaps of low end.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried one on bass?

Haven't tried the Sole Pressure but my HAO Rust Ride bass overdrive is about the sweetest sounding heavy overdrive i have ever heard.

I've seen those too but the lack of gain control puts me off.

HAO Rust Ride

I was shocked and deeply disappointed by the HUGE drop in low end from the Rust Ride. Am I the only one with this experience? Is my unit broken? When did the Sole Pressure come out?

I think the Sole Pressure has been around for a while, its designed for guitar though, but every review I have read says it has lots of low end, but none of those reviews were for bass.

I find that there is no actual loss of low end as long as the volume knob is just above halfway. In a quiet practice level enviroment, it may sound like the low end drops off when the pedal is engaged but jamming at a decent volume, its all there baby!

I love the hell out of my Rust Ride. I'm not all that concerned with low end though with my OD's as most of them lose some. I've never heard of the sole pressure...definitely interested based on how much I love my rust ride.

I had a similar experience with both of mine. They sound great when mixed using the clean output, but IMO are unusable without it.
