Someone posted a video of him before. I remember we were all impressed at how thin and weak he made his bass sound.

Obviously the meaning of this solo is not to sound like a bass, but the guy is a monster on the low end. You got to check the JFJO about albums or see them live to know what Im talking about, besides he is the band main composer.

It was cool for about 3 minutes. 7 minutes felt like 30.
Controversial comment coming next ...read at your own risk....

Personally, i would just play my guitar (or bass without whammy) for that song and it would have a better tone for the part. /shrug Yeah, it wouldnt have as much gimmick factor i know...

However, if it was just shorter with a little more effort spent on the tone i would have liked it more.
Just my worthless opinion 8)

No I understood that, I just think it sounds bad. Like when pop records in the '80s didn't have brass, they had sampled horns played on a Korg M1 instead. I doubt there was much "OMG it's actually a keyboard player, awesome!" going on.

I had a quick listen to the stuff on their site and I thought his playing was pretty distracting, generally. He's probably a much smarter musician than I am but I think he's got no taste, personally.
