hardwire rv-7 question

Sign in to disble this ad
i'm looking for a stereo reverb to use as a harmonic oscillator (plug left output into right input, right output into amp for crazy oscillations).

the hardwire rv-7 came up in my search, i love the reverse reverb mode but i've noticed that some digitech pedals run AC power. which is a hassle.

the hardwire website says:
Power Input: 9 VDC

but also :

Optional Power Supply

* US and Canada: 120 VAC, 60 Hz Adapter: PS200R - 120

so is it AC or DC?

I think that is a typo.

Mine is a UK one, and on the bottom of the pedal lists the optional PSU as being the Harmon Power Adapter PS200R Output 9VDC 300mA.

I just use a TRex Chameleon or DC Brick and have no issues at all.

It is definitely 9V DC, because I've run Hardwire pedals on a 1spot, which is DC. The optional power supply is specifying the power input, from the mains, which is 120VAC

Does this work? On that note, what other pedals can do this? I have a few boxes w/stereo I/O's & love making noise.

yea i also have this pedal, and run it with a one spot. the battery life isnt very long but it can run with one. maybe if your planning to gig with it one battery could last a gig but its an amazing pedal. i mean, im jus in awe of how great it sounds. so even if using ac is a pain to use i still suggest this pedal.

Oh yes indeed it works!

Not as the OP describes though.
Output 1 (mono) to your amp as normal.
Output 2 into Input 2
Input 2 into Output 2 creates the feedback loop, and enables you to tweak the knobs, and create all sorts of throbbing crazy madness that changes dynamically with your knob tweaking.
Output 2 into Input 1 just results in cascading noise that is non responsive to the controls, and is pretty unusable really.

To be honest Toby, I'd buy the pedal based on what it can do as a Reverb, and consider the feedback thing a bonus.
It's cool and all, especially when processed further through other effects, but I wouldn't buy the pedal just for the feedback aspect.

oh of course, i want a reverb and the as i said before, the reason i'm asking about the rv-7 is because of the reverse function that i've checked out on youtube, it sounds sweet.

in australia there's no gc or anything to try pedals out in, the range is severely limited and no store will order anything in without forcing you to pay for it first, so that's why i'm here.

i guess i mentioned the stereo thing so i wouldn't get recommendations for the plethora of reverb units i don't want.

so thanks for your help.
