Harmonizers + Bass guitar

Ok......can a harmonizer be used with a bass or do you have to use a guitar or keyboard to make the processor work......

It can work, provided it tracks the low notes well. An Octave pedal, technically, is a kind of harmonizer.

I've used my dad's Boss HR-2 Harmonist pedal with my bass. It worked but I usually stick to the octave up, octave down, or detune settings (which is actually an impressive chorus sound). I will probably remove it from my board once I get a chorus pedal but I suppose the octave feature is worth having around.

Some settings were pretty wild. I was messing around with it and my brother came in thinking that it was some 16 bit video game.

Yes. Eventide Pitchfactor works well with Bass. Actually there is a setting to put this box work with guitar specifically.
