Hartke Bass Attack malfunction?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I was playing with my pedal board tonight for a couple of hours when all of a sudden... BUZZZZZZZ...
A really really loud noise coming through the amp. I finally singled out the Hartke pedal.

I'm asking if any of you know what would cause the pedal to suddenly start buzzing like this. I don't think its a grounding issue. I went and plugged the board up to different outlets in the house. Still there. Do you think its something I can possibly fix? Opening it up and poking around isn't something I feel comfortable with.

Think I read somewhere on this forum that this happened to a guy who had his Hartke VXL powered via some sort of power supply or daisy chain. Apparently someone decided to send phantom power via the DI not knowing it was powered, and this caused a permanent crackling/hiss/buzz something when using the DI after that. Not sure if that helps =S

the bass attack should be just fine with phantom power. why would it fry? i've had phantom going to devices that were powered with an adapter but able to use phantom power and nothing ever happened to them.

i would call larry or hartke support.
