Hartman LM308 Rat clone?

anyone ever try this on bass? looks super slick:

considering picking one up...but a little concerned if it will cut any lows. i'm assuming it'll perform as good as a vintage rat as it has the same chip. any thoughts? the two drive modes appeal to me.

I'm intrigued as well. I also expect it to cut lows at least as much as a vintage rat. You might want to e-mail the builder. Sometimes these boutique guitar effects builders actually intentionally reduce lows in the circuits they reproduce because guitar players perceive the sound as "like the original but less muddy!"

The RAT in design cuts low's it's inherent with it and you can't change that without altering the design quite a bit or putting an active blend in it.

rats don't lose that much low end in their design but boost the highs and mids quite alot so it sounds more like they do ;<
