Has anyone compared a EBS Octabass against a Aguilar Octamizer?

I am interested in both of these pedals, and was wondering if anyone had a chance to do a head to head comparison. I am leaning towards the Aguilar, as it seems to have more tonal flexibility, but I wanted to see if there was any feedback on this first.

Actually, I was just thinking the same thing. I have only seen online video's of each and I was not impressed with the Aguilar (although that could have just been the person/video itself) and I loved the tone I heard from the EBS. But that doesnt mean much based on a few video's. Aguilar could be incredible and the EBS just ok for all I know.

Can't say I have compared the two, but IMO the EBS Octobass (I have the grey label) is the king when it comes to adding funky fatness to your tone. It doesn't sound synthy at all like the Boss. I got the impression the Octamizer is somewhere in between the Boss and the EBS, kind of a "compromised" position which could be useful if you can't have both the EBS and the Boss. To be honest, if I had to lose one, it would be the Boss, the EBS's fatness is awesome.

i really like the solo octave tone of the EBS "normal" mode but could never get it to do that "thickening" - when i blended it with my dry tone it always sounded "doubled" somehow. Maybe the tone control of the aguilar could help fuse the two octave sounds better? i dunno

The tone controls on the Octamizer can certainly help mesh the two sounds together--or further separate them. Also, with the lpf rolled all the way down, the Octamizer is very deep sounding. I have no experience with the Octabass to compare against, though. I did, however, post clips of the Octamizer in my thread about it.
