Has anyone ever used BBE pedals?

Hey, has anyone ever used BBE pedals?

http://www.bbesound.com/products/sto...amer/index.asp

They sound good on guitar but I'm not sure about bass. They are cheap but they look durable.

Only the sonic-stomp. I like what it does, I just rarely use it.
Good luck.

I have used a few BBE pedals before. I have used the Opto Stomp compressor pedal (great pedal for bass!) and I've used the BBE Green Screamer ad demoed in the videos. I liked the Green Screamer for that bit of overdrive to add to my live signal when I wanted a slight SVT type sound going into my DI and going to the house. It was nice because I had the SVT type overdrive signal going to the board and I didn't lug around an SVT and 810.

Oh...and I wouldn't call them cheap...i'd call them inexpensive. We don't want to hurt their feelings...especially since you'll be stomping on them.

On a serious note...I did find them very low noise, true bypass, small footprint on the pedalboard, and super well made. They are built like tanks...they have rubber bottoms, easy to access battery compartment, and well made knobs and pots! (no I don't work for BBE...but I wish I did :-))

I've used the Opto Stomp and the Orange Squash. Both were built like tanks, better build quality than some "boutique" pedals I've owned. The Opto Stomp is a winner in terms of sound/effect quality, and the Orange Squash is pretty decent but not fantastic. I would not hesitate to try any of the others.

Also, just 'cause I'm like that, I have to say the question "has anyone used xyz effect" is a bit silly because it's so easy to answer on your own by using the Search.

I used to use a Green Screamer...gives a nice gritty edge to the tone to replicate a tube overdrive (obviously). My only qualm was that it kind of cuts the low end off of your tone (not completely, but as I play in a hardcore band I need all the low end I can get, so i upgraded to a Fulltone Bassdrive).

both sound awesome and very silent,

i have a slight prob with my foot switch on the sonic stomp, but i havent figured it out yet. lol, i don't notice it sometimes. its like a "thud" when i turn it on.. then again, i've only noticed it a couple of times.

They are awesome pedals...well made and inexpencive...TRUE BYPASS...they come with adapters, I thought that was cool

I had a green screamer for a while, and might by it back...as far as low end loss i found it only really lost low end when the tone knob was cranked up, much like with a muff, but over all the low end was fine...
the guitarist I play with most of the time only uses these because he has had the best results with no feed back/noise in general with them...

+1 for the Opto stomp...if it had gotten to me sooner I'd have it but my buddy's route 66 got to me first...

i wanna try out a Soul Vibe

Bongomania has a great review of the Opto Stomp and I believe the Sonic Stomp. I don't have a link to the thread, but I'm sure you could find it if you did a search on "bongomania", "compressor reviews", etc.. Just search the Google, you'll find it, there's a lot of great compressor reviews on there that are very in depth.

I haven't personally used one but if I ever GAS for a compressor for whatever reason I'd probably spring for the Opto Stomp because of it's durability and affordability.

Huge fan of the Sonic Stomp. It adds back every bit of my lost low end thru a long chain. And maybe even more, I never turn it off.

How are you guys using your Opto-Stomps? Seems to be a pretty popular pedal here and wondering if it's the right one for me. I want to somewhat even out the volume of the notes across my fretboard (my 7th fret B is noticeably boomy, for instance) but still be able to control dynamics with picking strength. Would you recommend this pedal to me?

I don't know about the Opto-Stomp, but I was impressed with the Green Screamer and Boosta Grande when I tried them out at GC. I would really love to get my hands on a Mind Bender.

I just got a Sonic Stomp, and I like it a lot. I use it with my Fuzzes and OD to bring out a little more beef. I had been using a old rackmount BBE maximizer at home, and loved the results, but a rackmount doesn't fit real well on my board . I have to say though that the Sonic Stomp sounds better then the old black BBE maximizer.
