Have you ever tried a Electro Harmonix Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai on bass?

I watched a promotional video in youtube showing what this pedal can do and I thought it was really interesting. They just don't say if it's possible to use it with bass. Has anybody ever tried it on bass? What was it like?

YES

I had one & liked it but dumped it in favor of a more analog-esque pedal. The SMMH had many features that I wasn't really in need of, but other than that it was/is a great pedal(not saying the *extra* features weren't good, just not useful for me). I'd also suggest searching under *hazarai*; I'm certain there's some threads already here on this box.

Edit: In fact, here you go: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/search...rchid=10775159

I have tried it in the store. Not bad but more limited than for guitar in that you have to ask yourself how often you use delay and do you need that many options. I thought the modulation delay was nicer than what I have on my Boss DD-20. The reverse delay is cool too. Having the looper is a bonus. I'm kind of spoiled with the tempo display on the DD-20 though. Still not convinced enough to buy it but it's near the top of the my EHX want list.

I had one primarily for the looper; I'd wank out a little riff-thingie, then use that as a song section going into an RC-20XL. That turned out to be perhaps a bit too clever an idea for me, I didn't make much use of this concept. I liked the ability to loop w/various settings of delay going(unlike the limited delay+loop of the DL-4), but what I couldn't get with was the glitching you'll get if you turn the delay time knob on the fly. For real-time tweakage of this particular parameter, I like a nice true-analog delay, or a fairly lo-fi digital unit that thinks it's analog(Ibanez Soundtank EM-5 ).

Sounds like an interesting concept. I can get the glitch with the tempo/time knob on the Boss DD-20 and use that primarily as a looper. I may be onboard for SMMH pedal as a delay. I'm getting too old to lean over and keep turning knobs tho.

I will make some clips later, for the sake of an amazing pedal

If it weren't for the non-realtime tweakability I'd probably still have it. On the not wanting to lean over deal(at 45, I can relate ), you might consider a rackmount. I have an Ibanez UE-405 multi effect w/a delay, chorus, compressor & parametric EQ. although I use it primarily for the delay, the other efx are very nice too, but my point for you is that you could easily set it on top of your rig & twiddle away w/o wrenching your back.

I was doing the opposite. I use a DL4 for my loop and a DD-20 as my delay. I tried the SMMH in place of the DL4, hoping that the tap tempo function on the loops would work well but it didn't play well with loops in 3, so I returned it. I liked all the little tweekable features, but bending over to fiddle with knobs wasn't what I was looking for either.

I may just get another DD-20, something I've been debating for a while anyway. I can probably get some very cool soundscapes going by having the two feed each other.
