HBE Mimic Mock vs MXR Carbon Copy

I've been looking for a good analog delay and came across these two pedals on the interwebs. I haven't had a chance to try either of these out on bass and was wondering if anyone had any insight into the pros and cons of both, minus the price difference cause that ones obvious.

EDIT: If there are others that you would recommend I'd appreciate the input.

I haven't tried the HBE. The Carbon Copy is a very solid choice, especially for the price. Another to consider - the Malekko 616.

I think that the general opinion is that the HBE doesn't have enough headroom for it to be effective on bass.

A great sounding delay with very cool and usable modulation.

However, it is NOT an analog delay.

Yeah I was kind of confused on that... Subdecay is saying that its a hybrid?? so part of the pedal is analog and part is digital or its just digital emulating analog?

I could be wrong but I thought it was a digital delay with an "analog sound". It certainly does self-oscillation like a digital delay.

That said, it sounds really good and is worth consideration.

i a/b ed the carbon copy with the Way Huge aqua puss, and the AP beat it hands down.

I just watched a clip of it on guitar and it sounds amazing! So it plays nice with bass too?

I had the HBE Mimic I, didn't work. The trailing and delayed notes were meshed up, muddy and unclear. I dont think it responds well with bass frequencies. Not enough headroom is a problem too.

I have the Subdecay now and it's rocking the board! I guess it depends on your needs. If it suits you, possibly the Memory toy/boy is a bang for buck pedal.
