Heavy synth clip

"Heavy" was all I could think of to describe this. Though I suppose "bone crushing" would fit aswell.

Someone on another forum I frequent is looking for this synth tone. As the effects guy of that forum it was my responsibility to find out how he could achieve this, or something close to it. I personally cannot stand this tone, but he seems to really need it.

Seems to me like a synthy, gated fuzz could cop something like this. Maybe a Chunk Systems Brown Dog? Or feeding one of those crazy Devi Ever pedals into a gate (or even the Brown Dog)?

My very first thought hearing this is that one of Devi Ever's pedals could do something similar. She makes several gated fuzzes that could do something similar.

i can pretty much get that exact sound with my woolly mammoth running into my moog freqbox

It's some kind of fuzz + envelope running on a distorted channel. That's my guess.
