Help with 18v pedals

I have two 18v pedals -- a tone hammer DI, and an old Dano Cool Cat chorus.

Can I use a daisy chain plug that goes into the plug end of the tone hammer wall wart and then power both pedals?

I know from other posts here to be sure that the mA rating on the wart not be lower than what's called for on the pedal, as well as ensuring that the +/- line up correctly.

Also, since the daisy chain has five plugs, can I use them to power the 9v devices or will extra 9v going in smoke the electronics in the pedal?

Yes you can daisy-chain an 18 V supply, as long as (like you said) you make sure the mA rating is adequate and the polarity is correct. Also make sure not to mix up AC and DC. A few 9 V pedals can take 18 V, but a larger percentage of them will go up in smoke. So in general assume a "no" on that, though if you read up and contact manufacturers you may find some specific exceptions.

I wouldn't suggest powering 9V pedals with 18V.

Yeah, don't power a 9V pedal with 18V, UNLESS it says it's safe to do so. The Fulltone OCD for example can work with 9V and 18V (18V gives it more headroom). Also, many of the Earthquaker Devices pedals work well with 18V. When it comes to boutique pedals, it's best to ask the guys who built them directly. I did that for my Blackout Effectors Musket V2, and Kyle said it's safe to do so. When it comes to big companies, like Boss, Digitech or EHX, I wouldn't bet on it (speaking for the 9V pedals).
