Help!! Broke my chorus/flanger, cf7...

Sign in to disble this ad
So i was using my cf7 the other day and when my battery dies, i plugged in and it just basically fried, I think. Keep in mind, I have almost no idea about electronics. So i opened it up to take a look and this is what i found. I don't think i fried the board, probably just the resistor, but like i said before, I am almost clueless. I was hoping you guys could tell me how to fix it. What would i need to replace and where can i buy it. As well as what I need to make the repairs. Appreciate it guys.

If you have "no idea about electronics", I don't think it would be a good idea to even attempt a repair. If it's a fairly cheap pedal, it might not even be worth repairing.

You may be right, but i think this is a do-able project if i can figure out what it is that needs to be done in order to fix it.

That honestly looks like a ton of residue either from solder flux or something else. Could you give a better explanation of the events that lead you to the present condition of the pedal?

hi there!

It's not a resister, that is a safety diode, it was doing it's job when for one reason or another it got fried, you should be able to replace it if you can read the number on it, and ebay it. It's basically a fuse, if you do something wrong, it throw's itself in front of a speeding bullet

so you can just bridge it with a bit of wire.......but if you make another mistake you'll fry the pedal instead of the diode
