Help with chorus effect

Sign in to disble this ad
I am thinking about picking up a chorus effect for occasional songs. I'd like to run it through my effects send/return. I don't like to effects from bass to amp input.
Can anybody tell me whether this will be a problem? Thanks.

The only problem you may have is one of headroom. Most pedals are meant for instrument level signals (-20dB), whereas effects loops are generally at line level (0dB). So you could get some distortion if a pedal doesn't have a lot of headroom. However, if you were to get a rack unit, you generally won't have this problem, as they are designed to work at line level.

FWIW - I run all my pedals (except Wah) through my effects loop with no problems. I use a Small Clone chorus.
