Help on Deciding a Pedal Board

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, I'm in the market looking for a pedal board. I heard that Pedaltrain and Gator make pretty good boards.

The price range would be around 100ish, possibly more or less.

What are your guys' experiences with either of these brands or possibly something else?

Help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Pedaltrains are light, sturdy, and accommodate tidy cable runs. Gator boards don't compete in my opinion (I own both).

Pedaltrain for me. Once I got to see the big major brands in person, it was a no brainer.

Is it just me, or are pedal boards fairly expensive for what they are? I mean, are we paying $100-$200 for a metal frame, or is there something more to them that I'm missing?

I felt the same way at first, but it's worth it to me because I'm not capable of welding together and painting a metal frame like the pedal train.

For most people without the proper tools, materials, time, setup, etc., the money is definitely worth it.

I would just build one. If you go with wood, the materials are only $10 or so.

I have a Furman SP 8 that I got for a good price on "evilBay". Bit of money but it's good to have that power conditioner to keep your signal strong. The new ones have a hard shell case and "carry on" type handle.
