Get some sheet metal from the hardware store, cut it to shape, leaving it a little longer than the battery compartment, drill a hole for a screw to go in, bend the plate so that is looks like this:
(screw hole end)------------|__
and paint it to match the enclosure.

If you do it right, it should fit right in and look like new.

Pshhhh! That's the cheater's way out.

Also, since the Russian EHX pedals were discontinued, I'm not so sure that they would have replacement parts for them in the first place.

Don't forget to glue or rivet a battery clip to your shiny new piece of steel.

Thanks guys, that really helped! I wouldve tried to contact EHX but Ive heard they can be a little rude and cold with customer support. Plus my model is discontinued so that may make things even harder. So I think Ill try the do it yourself way! Thanks everyone!

I've had just the opposite experience when dealing with EHX.

I like the idea of the sheet metal, though. While you're there, pick up some JB Weld or similar to glue on the battery thing and you're all set.

There's some documentary about effects pedals (the name of which I can't remember, but there's a thread on it here somewhere), and in the EHX warehouse they have loads of old Sovtek amps. Those have been discontinued for way longer than the Russian pedals.

Using my fantastic powers of deduction, my guess is that they've got at least one battery compartment that they'd be willing to part with.
