Help -- EP-2 not working with Boss PH-3

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I just got a Moog EP-2 expression pedal in the mail today for use with my Boss PH-3 phaser. I found the PH-3 manual online, and thought I programmed the pedal correctly, but it won't work. It appears I can set the maximum speed, but not the minimum -- when I put the heel down on the EP-2 it does one or two cycles of whatever I've set as the minimum tempo, then reverts back to the maximum. There are also no settings in between; when I move the pedal from toe down, it just gives me the minimum tempo until reverting back to maximum.

Help please.

Turns out the EP-2 isn't compatible with the PH-3. Traded the EP-2 for an EV-5 and it works perfectly. Which is too bad cause the EP-2 feels better and cost way less.

Am now able to get some sounds that are almost like dubstep sounds. It's sort of a bass wabble instead of a bass wobble, but I guess it'll do for now...

Edit: I will add that I had used a Yamaha expression pedal for my PS-3 -- it appears boss either hasn't always used proprietary expression pedals and/or new boss pedals function differently. Any boss history experts out there?
