HELP!!! - Felix Pastorius solo effects

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utqm_AAPMbw

Hi can anyone help me figure out what effects Felix is using in the first 30 seconds of this solo. It sounds like a phaser/delay/octave combo, but I can pinpoint it.

I'm unfamiliar with that. Is that a pedal?

Mattbass97 01-02-2013 11:08 AM

Maybe a delay and ring mod?

Yes. Ring mod is short for Ring Modulatator. Lot's of different pedal companies make them.

Would you recommend any brands in particular? I'm assuming the ring mod is the harmonic-ish tone he's making.

Definitely a ring mod and delay. I think a line 6 m9 should do the trick if you wanna keep it simple. If you're looking for individual pedals check out companies such as Iron Ether, copilotFx, nr Fairfield circuits for the ring mod. A ton of companies make delay pedals so do some research and find what you like.

Thanks for the response. I'm pretty familiar with the delay, but the ring mod is new to me. i'll be on the lookout for the companies you mentioned.
