Help me choose my O/D!

Looking to get a nice overdriven sound (think RATM/Audioslave). i know that Tim used/uses an INSANE set-up but looking for a nice warm o/d that has some nice low-end grind to it but not FUZZZZZ! I have a few listed here that I have read about but just looking for some advice before I spend my hard-earned cash!

For a RATM sound, the tech 21 vt bass would be a good choice.

This, but I think he also used muff. There are those who say the rat tail gets you there, but since I don't have one (but I do want one), can't vouch.

I go for my own version of RATM with a tri pie with the blend turned up.

I am using a Hjart Muller Lo|Fat Bass Overdrive, it can go from a soft warm clip to a more pronounced but never quite reaches fuzzdom with no lo end loss at all.

okay I got the Catalinbread SFT today (along with my finally upgraded rig from a Hartke 2x10 to an Acoustic 4x10" with horn). This thing is amazing! So far here is my settings for a nice low-gain rumble (at which it excels)

Treble: 10:00
Bass: 12:30
Gain 09:00
Volume: 10:30

it definitely reminds me of the low-gain O/D for some RATM/Audioslave. Played "Show Me How To Live" and my wife was very impressed as was our friends that came over. Now hopefully when the Mantra O/D gets here (as per bigchiefbc's video) I can get the hi-gain setting for things like "Bombtrack"

The tech 21 is awesome, but it is a bit pricey. If you are looking for a nice overdrive check out the Digitech Overdirve or the Boss OD-3. The Boss may sound metallic to some but I recommend the Digitech Overdrive(it may not be what you are looking for, but play before you pay) the Boss OD-3 is alittle to metallic for my tastes, but that's just my 2 cents.
