Help me figure out the best way to get this sound

I just got asked to do a dep gig for a singer songwriter and was wondering about the effect used on one of the tracks.

sorry im pretty ignorant about effects...think it might be a synth?

sounds like they used a synth. I think if you had to use effects to try to get close to that sound, a little bit of fuzz and a bunch of compression would get you part way there.

there's also something to be said for just playing bass on stuff like that - live sound doesn't have to be the same as the album, that line would sound great with a real vintage type tone imo.

i'd go for a pog with up and little bit down added and after it some soft fuzz
