Help me get a true bypass loop pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
Ok so here's my effects:

Moogerfooger 102 ring mod
Moogerfooger 103 the phaser
Boss TR-2
MXR Blue Box
MXR Bass Auto Q
Zoom 506II Bass
Zvex Fuzz Factory
Boomerang Phrase Sampler
Ernie Ball Volume Pedal
Boss SYB-5 bass synth
Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal
Wobo inverter
Wobo booster

I know the wobo stuff doesent really matter but which ones of these are true bypass? I should probably have maybe the boss and the mxr stuff in a bypass loop? What would you do?

None of those pedals are "true bypass" except for the Zvex. As far as which ones "should" go in a loop, that's best answered by using your ears. If a certain pedal or several pedals in a row cause your sound to be duller or "worse" than when you take them out of the chain altogether, then put that pedal or group of pedals in a bypass loop. Note too that true-bypass loops themselves come with problems such as the potential for a loud 'pop' when you hit the bypass switch.

+1 to bongo's post.

In addition, since you have a lot of pedals... perhaps you should consider more than just a simple bypass loop.

Consider a loop strip with multiple bypass loops, to make the entire switching process easier on you (unless you like doing the pedal dance ). You'd be able to bring multiple effects into and out of the chain simultaneously, and have different loops for different combos of pedals.

i don't think you have too many pedals for a bypass loop!!!
i encountered problems when i passed the number 24 efx in series!!!
now i use radial big shots to manage my stuff!!!

otherwise take bongos advice and listen to what is better or worst... with pedals its always trying to find what works cuz in reality there is no rules!!! it is only what works for you!!! you must consider that there are lot of factors like you, electric power, pedals, your bass, amp...

i was thinking about having wobo build me a custom loop with at least 3 loops and a couple of inverters built in. are there any other companies that make custom loopers with built-in inverters?

take a look at wobo's double looper to get an idea of what im talking about
