Help me with my non-pedal board.

I am not a big effect guy. Most of my gigs (jazz combo, church, cover band) just don't call for much but a clear, full tone. My Modulus Q5 certainly has that. I use a tuner, compressor and that's about it. I use a DI (no stage amp) for church.

I was thinking about putting the couple things I use on a small board - mostly for convenience of leaving AC adapters, patch cables, etc all hooked up. TU-2, BBE Opto Stomp, DI.

The question is - knowing the style of music I play, if you were me and wanted to have something on your board for those times when you want to give your sound a slight change, nothing drastic, just a change up for an intro, a chorus, etc., what pedal would you have on your small, minimal board?

Eq pedal, bring out the frequencies in your bass that you like a little more for standing alone or leading in. Possibly a gentle distortion for a little more edge on the mids. Chorus could be a good choice as well... mebbe a short delay?

If bongomania posts after me, defer to him.

The VS H2O has a Chorus (that I like) and Echo (kinda like delay/reverb) so that may be a good option.

I have an H20 as well. The chorus is amazing if you get it dialed in right, and the echo side is pretty cool as well.

Personally, I think that a mild overdrive would be pretty useful in the situation you're describing.

See, I don't find myself wanting OD...or at least I have never found a mild OD that I like so I go without instead.

I think a nice, perhaps subtle chorus would be in order, it helps well to fill out your sound when you want to take a solo. It's cheap, and yes it is digital, but I've got a Boss CEB-3 and I think it's a nice pedal. No muddy lows at all and plenty of control over the effect level and the frequencies it is applied to.
