HELP! Need to Totally Uninstall Yamaha USB/MIDI Setup!

Remember those wretched Magicstomps?

Here's the problem: If you install the thing's editing software and drivers, it permanently screws up your computer's MIDI assignments so that many other devices will no longer work or set up. You can uninstall the Yamaha software, but you cannot uninstall the USB/MIDI interface. It will be there in your Control Panel until doomsday. If you try to install another multi-effect's MIDI interface and editing, it will probably not work. I have managed to corrupt all three of my Windows boxes with this POS and now I cannot run my useful multi-effects.

Does anyone know how to get this mess off my computers? I know a lot of people bought these things, so I can't be alone with this problem.

Yeah, I dunno. I tried here because it's the effect's "MIDI-USB Driver" that's causing the trouble and a lot of people here bought this thing.

you could try to use the restore point thingy in windows. I think it automatically does one when you install stuff, but don't quote me on that. I had the same thing with Line 6's PODs, but I recently reinstalled everything on my laptop, so its not like I can try stuff and tell you how it goes

Another thing would be to look under control panel->system for something like device manager, or drivers.

I would also suggest taking one of you machines to a computer nerd/geek/specialist and get them to look into it. They might be able to fix one, and tell you how to fix the others.

Unfortunately, this mess was installed long ago on all my machines and it was only recently that I discovered that this was the problem, so any restore point is long buried.

It is not in the Device Manager or anywhere that I can find. I've been told that it's so deeply buried that even Yamaha support doesn't know how to get it off, but I've just sent a request to them to confirm this one way or the other. It completely wrecks DigiTech, Johnson and other devices' editing/MIDI setup, and it seems to me that Yamaha should be obligated to provide information on how to remove their junk from your system.

Someone said that this will take rooting around in the registry. I dunno...
