Question Help with Roland PK-5A pedals?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I got these great MIDI trigger pedals and a simple M-Audio Midisport Uno to connect it to my laptop. Now here's where I need help...what software to use? I play bass and want to trigger various song bits on my computer. What good software can you recommend for recording, editing, saving, and playing/triggering with the pedals live? This is my first jump into MIDI and I know there are some bass players out there who use these pedals too.

The other thing I'm looking into is the Roland SP-555 sampler. I don't want a keyboard and if my laptop can't handle this kind of stuff has anyone had any experience with this product? I know it's made mostly for DJ's to sample on the fly but if you know of a great piece of hardware that comes with the software that samples and edits and triggers with these pedals well please let me know!

Thanks!

Any sequencing program should be able to do that, I think. Check out this month's Future Music for a really good look at pretty much every major current generation sequencer/recorder/synth/etc platform. Just make sure your laptop can run it.
