Help with settings on Crybaby 105q wah

Does anyone no good settings (volume and variabe q) for the controls of the Crybabay bass 105q wah pedal to get the Tim Commerford sound? like the songs calm lioke a bomb and within a breath

Experiment. You better have some fuzz/dirt ready to pour into the input of the wah as well or it wont sound near as good.

ive always left both knobs at max. put an overdrive or distortion after it and itll sound pretty close

yeah i acually got a marshall gov nor pedal, im not copying tim, i had this pedal for a while, i got the wah cuz tim had it tho but i got the marshall govnor in front of the wah,i have the vol. as max and q as min, but i want to know no other ppl opinions just to see if it sounds better, i use 1/2 way for the q and max vol for tool, u no the song the pot, the wah after the little bass solo, sorry for the grammar, im only 15

You should adjust your volume knob so that when you activate the pedal, your volume doesn't go up or down. You should have a pretty even volume... unless you are going for that kind of sound.

FWIW: My wah sounds so much better with a limiter.

Also, if you are chasing Timmy C's tone... good luck. He has the most complicated freakish signal chain I have ever seen. There are a million threads on here about it. Try searching it.

this is the thing to keep in mind. but the 105q with a distortion will sound cool in general, and will give you a good starting point to do some fun stuff inspired by his sound. and the world will be filled with butterflies and unicorns.

yeah i really dont like the wah, only with the dist added to it i think it sounds really cool, by far this is my fav pedal tho over my digitech whammy: these are my pedals just to show u all my setup:

Left to Right: Boss DD-3 Digital Delay, Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble, Digitech WH-4 Whammy, Dunlop Crybaby 105q bass wah, Marshall "The Guv'nor" (Old version) dist/over. pedal

vari q, what are the knobs exactly for? level? highs? lows?

I'm guessing that it varies (adjusts) the "Q".
google "parametric equalizer" to learn what the "Q" is.
