Help with terminology - Tracking?

Sign in to disble this ad
A real 'newbie' question. I'm reading a lot about the quality of 'tracking' in regards to pedals as opposed to 'Tone' - can anyone enlighten me as to what is meant by 'Tracking' in this regard?

Generally used for octave type pedals - how well the pedal follows or 'tracks' the note you are playing, in regards to the accuracy of the tone produced. Clear as mud?
