Help W/ Old Dist. Pedal

Sign in to disble this ad
I was reading about clones and doing things to your Big Muff and I was wondering if I could do anything to this old MXR distortion pedal that doesn't work. Maybe if there was a circuit board or something I could buy. The on off switch works because it cuts my signal when I put it on and the input and output jacks work too, I'm just not sure about the knobs and I know the circuit board is shot. I don't really know any thing about electronics so I'm pretty confused lol. Any help is appreciated.

Here's a pic of it if it helps at all...

If it's shot, either find a friend who can trace out the problem or do it yourself.

You could also put another PCB board in there and make it a 'new' pedal...

What's a PCB Board, and is that hard to do?

My clean sound goes through it and when I turn it on it acts like a kill switch plus it's completely corroded lol.

PCB is the board with the wires/components in it.

Is there any of these that will fit in that size pedal? There are no dimensions listed.
