This was recommended to me by a friend. I was wondering before I bought one if anyone here has used one. If so, how bass friendly are they. I'd like to know +/- qualities. Thanks!

I tried the Zendrive that my brother (guitarist) had. It sounds okay, but I really think there's better options out there for bass that will leave your low end a little more intact. Lots and lots of options.

It's one of many boutique guitar OD's that try to emulate the sound of a "Dumble" brand tube amp, and part of that sound is the lows being cut. So it's not just the lows being lost "accidentally" as with some other guitar pedals, but in fact an intentional cut. That said, I have one of this type that I modded for bass successfully--so if you feel like throwing some money around and fooling with the innards of the pedal, then a Dumble-esque OD can be cool on bass.
