pretty simple really |

You might also look into a cheap multi so you can have a taste of everything and find what you really want, then go from there.
Be careful with effects... they're addictive.
Usually you put the effect between your bass and amp, so your bass would go into the input of the pedal and the output would go to your amp.

I got it second hand and it wasn't fancy, but it got the job done. And for the price that it's at, I wasn't complaining. It served me well and I was able to squeeze out my first recordings with it. |

didnt even respond to the message i left you on youtube m8 why do u hate me | because you're an ignorant 14 year old boy. I don't know about you but when I was your age I didn't run my mouth and call things I don't understand "eff-tards". I don't hate you, I just pity you because you could potentially grow up and say ignorant things about people with alternative lifestyles.
if you're low on cash and have a computer, u can get a USB interface and download free software online (virtual effects boxes, etc). |

There are several old threads about it that you could find by searching. You can learn a whole lot just reading here at the effects forum. |

What is "alternative rock?" "Alternative" to what?
Can you name a current "non-alternative" rock band or act?
What makes what YOU call "alternative" rock, alternative to that hypothetical mainstream?

What makes what YOU call "alternative" rock, alternative to that hypothetical mainstream? | If it's featured in "Alternative Press" Magazine.
Therein, lies a great irony (as the magazine is quite popular). |

| | Supporting Member | | Join Date: Sep 2007 Location: London, England | | | in my opinion, while a multi fx can be a good place to start, u can end up paying for more than u want, ie: fx that u just wont use and might regret spending £100 to work out that what u actually wanted was an envelope filter. However it could easily be argued that without getting hold of a multi fx in the first place, u wont know what sounds u like and what ones u dont.
personally, for someone who seems to be a bit of a n00b to fx, id actually say get some of the Behringer pedals, they're cheap, plastic, and may shatter if u stomp too hard (altho ive never had any complaints with any behringer pedals) but then at least u will understand the effects these pedals will have on ur sound
first off id suggest some sort of cheap BASS distortion,
and as u mentioned muse, id suggest pairing that with an envelope filter/autowah, and for the moment that'll possibly be ur $100 (i dont really know US prices for behringer stuff, so it could be much less/more)
most of the behringer stuff is based on the Boss pedals, and apparently they're comming out with their version of the Boss Bass Synth, which is a real synth pedal, rather than just an envelope filter with distortion and octave, so if u find one then u might really love the variations (11 modes it has i think)
altho if it is anything like the Boss, then the tracking will be shocking, but for behringer prices, id happily buy it anyway.
