Hiss w/EBS Multidrive

I love the sound of Multidrive when engaged, but I don't use it all the time. When it's bypassed it adds considerable amount of hiss. Interestingly, as I hit active/passive switch (when bypassed) hiss level changes. Is this normal or do I have a faulty unit?

Mine doesn't add any noticeable hiss when bypassed. I would check the battery or power supply if I were you. The problem might be related to that.

My Multicomp did that too - maybe some EBS pedals have an issue.
