Question hm2 + powersupply.

Sign in to disble this ad
ola,
i use a boss heavy metal for full on distortion, but lately ive found something rather strange. when using the pedal with just a battery it works normally, but when i plug the pedal into a 9V power supply, it goes nuts, sounds almost like a subdecay noise box, rather odd. so basically, my question is; why does the pedal do this and how can i use a powersupply and have it sound as it should?

I believe that the HM-2 uses a ACA adapter and not the standard PSA adapters that you usually get nowadays. But I can be wrong...

I just run my boss hm-2 on any number of cheap 9v DC adaptors, usually in a daisy chain type setup with other pedals.

Never had any probs.

(Great pedal too by the way )

Yeah it is, and no problems here with the standard plugs either.

Mine is the same. It won't work with my power-all, but is fine on batteries. I've found a power supply laying around that it works with, but I'm not sure what's different about it.
