I want to highly recommend using the RC Clean Boost after your fuzz pedal. It has volume, gain, treble, and bass controls and totally shapes your fuzz tones righteously.
I've used it after a Bazzfuss pedal I built and it worked great. After the EH Bass Big Muff, frankly, it's magnificent.
The RC Boost could really be one of those pedals you just leave on and adjust to whatever your doing around it. As a preamp, it sounds better than the Behringer BDI21 for direct recording. I dunno... If it had a mid control it would be even better. Otherwise, it just kinda makes everything sound better and is highly tweakable. |

Personally I like my OD before my fuzz. But thats cus my OD shapes my tone really dark, and my fuzz has a blend. if I ran the Hema after (and I have) it totally kills whatever awesome the Goat belts out.
I think you should end your post with YMMV
QUICK EDIT: ***? I think a mod should change the time amount before this guy can post again to somewhere past 24 hours |

| | | | This is one of only a few threads I've made since I joined. And yes, I can be a little too fast for the lovin' to last. At least that's what she said. I haven't tried it in front of the fuzz, mainly because it shapes it so nicely after. I could give it a go, but I can't imagine it would sound better. |

Anyways, maybe wait a little longer for responces before posting again in your own thread. And you might want to avoid posts like the "Do I have to spell it out for you" kind if you expect to be taken even a little seriously..... |

Fuzz is serious business, after all. I can't help it, though, I get giddy when I dial in the killer tonez. |

| Well, the RC is definitely no OD. It is a clean boost/2 band preamp.

It's just really chunky and thick while retaining some nice highs and not becoming muddy. |

| | | Pardon the sloppy playing, I've only recently begun to take bass seriously.
Here is a quick clip. First, I'm just using my Peavey Forum on the Duncan Quarter Pounder bridge jazz pickup. Then I kick in the Bass Big Muff and it's set with the toggle on dry and the volume at 1 oclock, tone at 1 oclock, and the sustain control at 10 oclock. Then I kick on the RC boost and the gain is at 9 oclock, level at noon, treble at 2 oclock, and bass at 11 oclock.
In my opinion, it adds a lot of sparkle, chunk, and clarity to the muff tones: http://www.soundclick.com/util/getpl...d=6748604&q=hi | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
