Clips? How does it handle bass? I didn't like the Ross Comp clone that I built a long time ago from BYOC as it sapped bass tone.

Yeah, that's the thing with both Ross types and Armstrong types, is they lose some low end unless modded--and it's not just a "replace the input cap" type of mod. So I'd be curious what adaptations the DIY'er did to make it more bass-friendly.
