I used a small piece of 3/8" plywood covered with Veltex (loop-side Velcro fabric) and six stick-on rubber feet on the bottom. The board is cut to fit inside an ATA-sytle briefcase. Persoanally, I prefer my board to be flat on the floor (rather than angled up) and as low-profile as possible. This setup gets the job done for me.
The case also serves as storage for cables, stand, extra strings, tool, etc.
