hooking what to what to what

Hey all,

Just setting up a couple of boxes and doing a little switching around.

What would be the proper way (as in order) to hook up a MarkBass 800 tube pre-amp to a VT Deluxe to a Big Muff to the tuner to the bass guitar. The order i laid these out is the order that I was going to put them in. Would VT Deluxe be attached to amp head some other way.....just want the easiest way that makes the most sense for my application.

Also, potentially silly question here as I don't use stompers too much yet. Do I keep my bass guitar settings (bass, treb...) with no stomps on before I mess with the settings on the VT Deluxe and the Big Muff? With a deluxe VT would you always play with the pedal on as you have mulitple settings and run the dist. pedal through that...or better to have that off and then use the Muff. I guess that's it. Thanks like always.

Personally, I run the VT last on the floor...always on as a tone shaper. What it does for a clean sound it does for effects too so they just sound better. (also the VT has a rather high output and I don't have to spend time adjusting it for unity volume)
I would suggest bass to tuner to tube preamp to muff to VT to amp. (I just re-read your post...usually people describe their signal path from bass to amp...)

Thanks. That was my plan, but didn't know if it made sense with the VT always on or what not. So far the sound of my bass without the VT sounds better than the VT, but I just got it.

I guess the only other question is if I should run my bass flat and have the vt do it's work or does that make no sense at all. In my mind I am thinking that I want my best sound from my bass guitar settings i can get before I start messing with the settings on the VT. My MB800 I run pretty flat most of the time. Thanks again.
