Hey Guys,
I did a bunch of searching on this but there wasn't a definitive answer to the posts. So here goes...can you decide what effects will be used in a patch and in what order?Example, Compressor + Distortion, Chorus + Wah, Octaver + Distortion or are there predetermined templates for patches?
I found a place that still has these in stock for a great price, is it worth it?

You can't change the fx order, but some fx can be disabled if they have level/blend parameter. I have a Magicstomp (guitar version) which I've upgraded to firmware v2.1 so that it has all the capabilities of guitar, acoustic and bass version. I love it, the only fx that I won't sell.

Ok, so you can't change the order of effects. But can you use what effects you want in a patch?

Magicstomp EB

No. I can't invent a new order of fx on my Yamaha Magicstomp EB. I have to select from the built in options.

A lot of the options are single fx. A lot are a combination of two fx, some in parallel, some in series. And there are some "multi effect" options, as examples, (comp + amp simulator + chorus + delay + reverb) and (comp + distortion + tremolo + delay + reverb)

Since I can "deep edit" a multi effect, I can remove one (or more) of the fx (like distortion) from the multi effect chain, so that gives me more options.

I'm extremely satisfied with the Magicstomp EB. The inability to invent my own order of fx was not a deciding factor for me. In this single box, I get the sonic range of an entire rack (or pedal board) of individual fx.

Magicstomp EB docs

You can download the list of fx combinations (and the user manual, etc.) from the yamaha web site

http://www.yamaha.co.jp/manual/english/

and search on "magicstomp"

This is where I got the new version : http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group...mp_ub99/files/

Maybe you should subscribe to this group before able to download the files. You should download :
- the new editor (2 compressed .rar files)
- one .mid file (firmware update)
- the mid radio exe file to upload the mid file to your pedal.

Then follow the instruction on magicstomp.com to update your MS. Pls let me know if it works or not.

Good luck !!!

Figured I'd piggyback on this thread:

I have a Magicstomp and I'd like to have a combination of (in no order) wah + delay + OD, if possible. I'm able to get this combination with my Zoom B2, but I was wondering if it is possible to get this with the Magicstomp?

If so, how do I do this? Do I have to do it through the software or is there a way to do it on the unit itself?

If the order you want doesn't exist on Magicstomp's list of effect combinations that won't be possible even if you use the software.

Sadly, that's what I was afraid of. Oh well.

Thanks for your help, i2k!
