Hi guys, just like to get a quick confirmation. A local forum has posted a brand new Sansamp Driver DI for sale. I'd like to get it (getting rid of my Behringer BDI21), but it's not from a store and no receipt. All I got are pics, though I can test it when we meet (the seller):
What do you think? Is it legit in terms of packaging? Thanks! |

From the Tech 21 site.....
"If you require immediate attention please call us directly at: 973-777-6996"
Give them a call and see if that's how they package them now and ask if they have had any problems with overseas clones.

| | | | Yeah, probably not the original packageing. Looks like a earlier model perhaps. Mine has two more switches: one for LINE/INST/ for 1/4 mono plug & LINE/INST/ for XLR out |

They did indeed come in a cardboard box in the past. May just be a job lot of outdated stock packaged differently. |

| | | | Same with me, I got one a few years back and it looks like mine. Mine also came in a box. Great unit, and sound folks seem to like them. |

| | | | Just to concur and throw in my +1... with my own experiences, that's an older BDDI and that's certainly not the factory packaging. |

| | | | That defently looks like an older one, the lack of switchs is the biggest teller. |

| | | | The older model is fine, I've had both. The older one required a screw driver to remove the whole back panel to change the battery where the newer model has a flip panel which houses a battery. This was important to me cos I hate having to use a screw driver - its embarrasing in the middle of a set to be fiddling round with your di and missing a song.
Also cos it don't have the extra switches you will find it wont power up a power amp as well. One of them switches is a boost for hitting power amps with more juce.
This one looks like the shop bought an old one and vacume/shrink wrapped it to look new. My opinion is the same, the footswitch could be the giveaway it looks used. If you are getting it for 100-120 US$ and it works fine then its a square deal, IMO. You also see the newer model pop up on the classifieds here for around the 125-150 mark, as well. PM me if you want a link to the manual for this model. Tec 21 don't list them on their site but they exist. |

It's probably something that was dumped when they went to the new model. I have that model. Works great. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
